Lisburn Castle Gardens Restoration Project is part of a £3.7 million scheme undertaken by City Council, with the assistance of a generous grant from the Heritage Lottery Fund, to restore and revitalise Lisburn's Historic Quarter, an area to the east of Market Square encompassing the Gardens and Bridge Street.
The restoration of the Gardens themselves, through extensive archaeological and engineering work, will be completed in July 2007 and is one of the largest urban park projects in the U.K. to be funded by the Heritage Lottery Fund.
